carb - carb operation, fuel line, fuel filter, air filter, lubrication and spring operation
vacuum - lines, pcv valve
ignition - spark plug cables, distributor, coil, wiring
electrical - fuses, alternator charging and clean
fluids - oil, trany, brakes, power steering, coolant, tcase/diffs, washer fluid, gas, spares for each
Undercariage body and frame - cracks, steering bracket, body mounts
transmission - leaks, linkage
suspension - spring condition, shocks, shackles, ubolts and plates, spring bushing wear
drivetrain - drive-shafts, play, ujoints, leaks in trany/tcase/diff, grease
exhaust - pipes, muffler
nuts & bolts - lug nuts, hub, shackles, ubolts, springs, shocks, ujoints, engine/trany/tcase/diff pan, hooks, gas tank, skid plates, steering
lubrication - grease ujoint, steering, lubricate parking brake lines, carb, accelerator linkage, various joints and hinges
Other drive test - all gears, tcase shifting, hubs locking
legal - license plate attached and visible, license/insurance/registration on hand, at least two usable mirrors
equipment - all necessary tools and spare parts securely fastened down
Pre-Flight Check (each trail you go on)
suspension bolts tight - shocks, shackles, ubolts
lug nuts and hubs bolts tight
fluids - oil, trany, brakes, power steering
carb - clean, air filter good, cleaner housing
In-Flight Check (every time you stop)
undercarriage - check under vehicle for anything hanging down
bolts - quick visual inspection of wheels, hubs, shackles, and shocks
electrical - alternator charging and clean
